China spent USD 20 billion for constructing infrastructure and facilities for the athletes for staging the Olympics, world?s biggest sporting extravaganza that upholds a glorious human heritage.

Asked about criticism against environmental pollution by some western media, he said the Beijing municipality has efficiently addressed the issue of air pollution by spending 100 billion Chinese RMGs and improved the air quality through hard work since 1998.

He admitted that there were violent terrorist strikes on the eve of the games but the Chinese authorities handled those very efficiently.

?We?ve been able to satisfy the expectation of the world community and the athletes and provided high-level facilities at all Olympic venues through our relentless efforts for last several years,? he said about the Herculean work that went behind the Olympics-the games that give aesthetic meaning to one of the famous Greek myths.

Alongside the main events at the Beijing Olympiad at 37 venues, the Chinese authorities organized 2000 to 3000 cultural activities since the opening of the greatest sport events on earth on August 4.

Jiang said the International Olympic Committee conducted an opinion poll Cheap Wow Gold throughout China where 96 percent people extended their wholehearted support to the hosting of the Olympics, which is unprecedented in the history of the Olympics.

It was a great challenge for the 1.2 billion people of China to host the meet smoothly in a peaceful environment--and they did it.

Apart from regular security personnel, 100,000 specially trained young male and female volunteers were posted at different Olympic venues to accomplish various tasks, including security checks, to make the Olympic a great success.

As part of the dress rehearsals, they were trained in several foreign languages, including English and French, as well as protocols for interactions and hospitality for the players and foreign guests.
